Buckle up, buckle up! To overthrow capitalism and establish world peace. From the living room of a luxury villa.
How seriously should we take the views of the famous and powerful on what needs to be done to save the world? What does Jane Fonda has to say? And what about the unknown fitness instructor, freelance performer Lucie?
When I'm at a demonstration, I'm one cobblestone on a paved road that leads to a solution to a problem. At that moment, it doesn't matter how long the road is, but that we are heading towards a common goal.
Activism - the natural need to respond to cumulative global crises. Activism - the naive notion of being able to change the world easily and quickly. Activism - an annoying sore on the face of an orderly (democratic?) society.
How many of you exercise regularly, several times a week?
Who forces themselves to do it once after the New Year and then nothing for a long time?
It begs the question, what is the point of exercising once, if we can't bring ourselves to do it for the next several months.
And anyway, what is the point of trying to radically transform a world whose roots we have poured concrete over so firmly that it is seemingly impossible to move them even a millimetre?
