Palestine Lives with Us!
The number of victims of Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip has already reached hundreds of thousands. Although the Israeli army deliberately targets and kills journalists, academics, and humanitarian workers, making it difficult to estimate the exact number of casualties, the suffering of the Palestinian people—after two years of genocide committed against Palestinians by the Israeli government—is undeniable.
Genocide. We refuse to remain afraid of calling things by their proper names. While the Czech government continues to fanatically defend internationally prosecuted war criminals led by Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, UN investigative commissions and Israeli human rights organizations have concluded that the crimes committed by the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip can only be described as genocide.
That is why we want to make it clear – Palestine lives with us!
The student collective Proti dehumanizaci and the independent theatre Divadlo 3+kk, in cooperation with Terén, the stage of the Centre for Experimental Theatre, together with Palestinians living in the Czech Republic, are organizing a day against the dehumanization of the Palestinian people.
The afternoon program of the benefit event, which will take place in the cultural and community space Rello, will include, among other things, a live meeting with Palestinians living in the Czech Republic. Face-to-face encounters and the opportunity to hear direct testimonies are the best way to counter war propaganda and politically motivated manipulation of facts.
Through the Living Library format*, visitors will be able to meet and engage in conversations with Palestinian anthropologist Arwa Kharobi, Palestinian musician Ahmad Asadi with his band Šejk-en roll, and Tomáš Bendl, Head of Communications at Doctors Without Borders, whose teams continue to operate in the Gaza Strip.
The evening program of concerts and DJ sets will be an expression of solidarity between Czech and Palestinian musicians with all innocent residents and victims in Palestine.
We aim to clearly and resolutely express our solidarity with Palestinians and our rejection of Israel’s genocidal policies and the Czech government’s complicity in them. Our goal is to create a safe space where anyone can freely join this dissent and say: Not in our name. No to the dehumanization of Palestinian civilians, no to arming a terrorist state with our money.

*The Living Library is a specific discussion format that enables authentic sharing of human stories and experiences with the audience. After a short introductory session where the guests (the “living books”) present themselves, the discussion splits into smaller groups. Each “book” has the opportunity to tell their story with the support of a facilitator, and the audience can engage in dialogue in a way that respects the needs of each storyteller.
